"Another nice shout-out about the new Mic Harrison & The High Score record:"
— You know how people are always stopping you on the street and asking, “Where can I find the perfect mix of guitar-happy roots rock, extra-amped-up power pop, and the stuff called alt-country that was big at the turn of the millennium?” So next time point ‘em directly at Still Wanna Fight, the latest from Mic Harrison and the High Score – a guy and a band that go together like, well, guitar-happy roots rock, extra-amped-up power pop, and the stuff called alt-country that was big at the turn of the millennium.
Open note to Mic Harrison:
I first learned of you when you played Dave Edmunds to Scott Miller’s Nick Lowe as the V-roys answered the musical question, “What if Rockpile recorded on a steady diet of Jack Daniel’s?” Next up were the Faults (who you blessed with “Dishonest Jenny,” a tune that outhooks “867-5309” to make it the catchiest Jenny song ever) and a late-inning stint with Superdrag. And for a decade now you’ve been throwing roots-rock haymakers out in front of the High Score. You had us at “Sooner or Later,” but that’s never stopped you from playing and writing and singing like you still have a lot to prove. And that’s how your new record with the High Score, just like all that came before it, feels. You still wanna fight, I still wanna listen.
